Lake / Pond

We were really pleased to find, amongst scrub, an existing wildlife pond on site and after advice from ecologists and local wildlife trusts we have worked hard to clear willow and scrub around the pond to improve the quality of water and availability to wildlife. Almost immediately we had ducks and other birds visiting the pond, including nightingale. This beautiful pond will always remain as it is, a wildlife haven.

As the site is so waterlogged in the winter and clearly suited to holding water we felt a large pond / lake would enhance the area of field that at the moment is either boggy mud in the winter or bare soil / dead grass in the summer.

We dug our lake in November 2025 - December 2025 and it filled with the amount of rainfall we had by the end of January 2026. We have spent the remainder of the winter planting a hedgerow around the lake and we are looking forward to further landscaping once the ground has dried and we can spread the wildflower seed.

We will be building the cabins in 2026 so by Spring 2027 we are planning to be open to share this wonderful site with guests.

In addition we hope to run tuition and support for children and adults with their mental health. As well as family days for parents to share time in nature with their children.
